If you are a newbie blogger and are looking for an awesome conference to attend this year, you need to check out the Type A Parent Conference. I have been to a few of Kelby’s conferences and she does not disappoint.
From the after hour parties, to the learning, to the amazing networking you can gain from attending it will definitely be worth it.
Since I have been to Atlanta for Type A the year before, I needed to visit my favorite restaurant Gordon Biersch for dinner. I love the food and it’s within walking distance from the hotel.
After a great dinner, I got settled in my room. As a essential oil user, I always take my diffuser and oils with me as I travel.
Then it was time to head downstairs for the VIP Reception being sponsored by Carters & Osh Kosh B’Gosh. I had a nice time catching up with some of my blogging friends and talking to representatives from Carters. It was nice to celebrate their 150 year anniversary.
I had a wonderful night sleep and was ready to hit the conference. I had my Erin Condren planner all set with the conference schedule.
Breakfast was fantastic and it’s a great time to meet “new” blogging friends. After we ate and we compared schedules, as you have the opportunity to pick different presentations depending on your niche or interest. Once we figured out who was going where, exchanged Twitter handles to share our notes with each other it was off to learn.
Here is just a sample of the some the amazing presentations I attended:
Then you attend one of your friend’s presentation, Deborah Gilboa from AskDrG and she sets the tone for what you are going to do when you get home.
Besides being a recognized parenting expert, Deborah is an awesome speaker and she talked to us about building your audience through speaking engagements. As a special needs mom blogger/advocate this is something I want to take very seriously in 2016. I want to share our story, I want my voice to be heard.
Besides the amazing presentations, I love hanging out with amazing bloggers. Let me share with you some I met while at the conference:
The beautiful Claudia Krusch from Trendy Latina. You need to follow Claudia this year, she will be doing some amazing things.
The extremely lovely Dollie Freeman from Joy In The Home. Dollie has an awesome blogging conference herself that you should look into called “Focused Blogging Conference”
When I saw Audrey McClleland from Mom Generations walk by, I almost fell off my chair. I love Audrey, she is one of those bloggers that everyone aspires to be. She seems to be partnering with everyone and doing awesome stuff. She’s been on tv, but truly a genuine person and very kind.
And then Type A wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t hang with my girl Suzanne Young from Funny For Her Age. Suzanne is so funny and has a heart of gold.
Between the amazing food some sponsored and some from the hotel, we were feed really well.
Jones Dairy Farm sponsored breakfast one morning.
Martin’s Potato Rolls provided an awesome lunch.
Here is a glimpse at some of the sponsors from the conference:
It was great to see CVS new natural product line.

Loved the breakout rooms. Here is Domain.me where I had the awesome opportunity to interview Dr. Darria Long Gillespie. Dr. Darria is a first and foremost a Mom, ER Doctor, TV and Media Health Expert and radio host. We had a wonderful conversation around when parents visit the emergency room with their special needs child. You can read my interview with her at “5 Important Tips If Your Special Needs Child Visits The Emergency Room”.
We had a wonderful food demonstration from Chef Virginia Willis in a break out room sponsored by Best Buy. You can see the food demonstration at my post “Where Love And Family Meet”. (I was compensated with a Best Buy Gift Card for writing that post). Did you know that Best Buys works with bloggers?
Then came the parties, where we all let our hair down after a intense day of learning and networking. First came the infamous Disney Parks Party. This is the party all the Moms wait for. A grown up party were we can get dressed up and enjoy networking.
I was able to repurpose the pirate ears I received the previous year from the Disney party for this year to be a pirate.
Then the next night came the Bevy party where things got a little more crazy, since this was truly a “dance party” with DJ and all.
Where purple/lavender cosmos where being drunk by all.
We felt like celebrities, we even had the opportunity to mingle with celebrities as well. It was quickly figured out by the curious Moms that Ice Cube was staying at the hotel, since a few of us (me!), got to meet him down at the hotel bar.
But after a wonderful weekend in Atlanta with amazing bloggers and awesome sponsors, it was great to come home to my celebrity…my son!
I am looking for sponsorship again this year to attend the first ever Type A Parent East in Walt Disney World in October 2016. I would love to talk to you about sponsoring me, please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss sponsorship levels.
Type-A East at Walt Disney World will be 3+ days of top-notch sessions, workshops and keynotes featuring some of the best and brightest speakers in the business. We will also offer interactive brand and blogger networking functions and, of course, amazing parties all with the magical setting of Walt Disney World. We just learned that Darren Rowse from ProBlogger will be the closing keynote at TYPEAEAST (#TAPeast16). I can not wait to attend.
