Pamper Yourself

A little TLC can go a long way when you are a Mom of a child with special challenges!
Stop and ask yourself when was the last time you did something nice for yourself? Or let me put it this way when was the last time you gave yourself “permission” to pamper yourself?
We often find ourselves running on empty, which is a perfect time to “fill your tank up”. But we as Moms often think that our self-care is worthless and push it to the side at the expense of doing something for our child or our family.

A car won’t run unless there is gas in it, and the same goes for you!

Here is a quote from a book I read entitled “The Motherhood Evolution How Thriving Mothers Raise Thriving Children” by Suzi Lula.  “Caring for ourselves is not only not selfish, it’s the most selfless thing we can do for our children.”  So don’t put your own self-care to the side, embrace it and do something nice for yourself.
If you can get to the spa to get a massage before you leave, why not make another appointment for yourself? But if going to a spa is not an option, make some time to take a warm bubble bath, and maybe give your nails some love and paint them.
Moms often feel invigorated after showing themselves some love, they then find themselves doing more for their family. When you are thriving, everyone else benefits.
So when you start feeling guilty, just remind yourself that you are worthy of this self-love!
